Game-based learning is an often misunderstood and improperly applied method and the goal is to remove the mystery about what you need to do to make it work for you in your courses. In the case of XR, as a burgeoning technology, effective andragogical approaches are still in development.
Dr. Juli Jamison is a multi-award-winning teacher and faculty developer.
She has taught a wide range of courses over the years, but currently teaches Digital Game-based Learning as Instructional Design Field Faculty for the University of Kentucky.
She has led special initiatives in the Office of Online Learning at the Kentucky Community and Technical College System. A large part of her work involved guiding the implementation of GBL and XR across 16 state colleges that serve over a hundred thousand students a year.
This includes extensive research, presentation of guiding principles, and creation of faculty development experiences and resources.
